Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition finally confirms release date, comes out on June 25, remastered at 4K and 60 fps on all platforms.
Beyond Good & Evil: 20th Anniversary Edition It’s been a long time coming. So much so that technically the game will arrive closer to its 21st anniversary, since this cult game from Ubisoft Montpellier directed by Michael Ancel was originally released in 2003 (PS2 and GameCube).
Ubisoft could have announced it in its Ubisoft Forward, but they have kept the surprise to themselves after the Summer Game Fest (even the Nintendo Direct).
Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary Edition will be released on June 25th on PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, and is a remastering with several technical improvements.
Will it have a physical edition? Yes, but bad news: they will be distributed by Limited Run Games, and pre-orders will open on July 12… and then they take months to arrive from the United States, with expensive shipping costs.
Ubisoft will re-announce Beyond Good & Evil 20th Anniversary this Thursday
This is a strange announcement, because not only was this remaster leaked last year, but it was released in November 2023… and immediately taken down.
Ubisoft pretended that nothing had happened, and now finally comes the opportunity to enjoy this action and adventure game starring Jadea photojournalist and martial arts expert, who is also a spy.
And the game from the creator of Rayman takes place in a spectacular fantasy and science fiction world: year 2435, planet Hillys, governed by a military dictatorship… and we work for the resistance.
A story worthy of an animated film, with a varied development that mixes puzzles, stealth and action. We are not deceiving you, it is a game of its time and that will be noticeable in the depth of some of its mechanics, but it is a very entertaining and tremendously original game.
That’s why there was so much celebration when they announced Beyond Good & Evil 2, a sequel that, however, many doubt exists. Michel Ancel has left Ubisoft, and although the game is still in development, it will surely be very different from what was seen years ago…
What no one can take away from us, now, is Beyond Good & Evil – 20th Anniversary Editiona remastered version at 60 fps and 4K for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC, on sale June 25.
